So today I went to visit my mother and rescued my laptop from android Hell, aka eternal storage. It's had a virus for quite some time and been completely out of commission for about as long. However, a good friend of mine had access to some tools I did not and helped me wipe the whole thing. Starting from scratch, okaying the destruction of so many old files that I had such attachment to was hard, but it was necessary, an amputation of sorts.
So he erased everything and we started from scratch and now, while quite empty, I'm back on a real computer instead of the half-computer (see:Chromebook). It's sort of like coming home after a very long journey. Nothing's the same, but it's familiar. It's home.
Now, it's so old that it could really use some upgrading; the graphics card leaves a bit to be desired, it has no wireless capabilities to speak of, and the speakers are horrendous, but this is the computer that got me through high school. It's the computer I stayed up for countless hours RPing, video editing, image manipulating, and so on. I've spent so much time on this computer that it's just nice to be using it again.
In short, I should be able to resume my usual activities before too long. See you next time. Ja ne!
